Hello,
I’m Aaron Crawford — an instructional coach, folklorist, and teacher. I work with teachers, students, and communities to make learning make sense. My background is a mix of computer science, history, instructional design, and American folklore, which means I’m usually thinking about how people learn and why certain ideas stick.
I’ve taught everything from algorithms to Reconstruction. I’ve designed curriculum, coached teachers, researched how people use stories, and built enough workshops and resources to fill several filing cabinets (digital and otherwise). I like clear explanations, practical tools, and ideas that hold up on a Monday morning.
These days, most of my work sits at the intersection of teaching, technology, and story. I help teachers simplify their practice, understand classroom psychology, and use tools in ways that support thinking instead of replacing it. I also teach folklore in the community and collect the kinds of stories that say something real about the people who tell them.
Outside of school, I write, build things on the internet, and tinker with projects that make my curiosity happy. If you’d like to reach out, the Contact page is the easiest way to do it.
